Annual Cayman Festivals

January – The Taste of Cayman Food and Drink Festival is the highlight of January in Grand Cayman. Held in Camana Bay, it brings together restaurants, bars and vendors from around the island to celebrate the Island’s delicious dishes and drinks. There are competitions and awards for Cayman’s Favourite Restaurant as well as a Seven Fathoms Rum Challenge, which determines the Taste of Cayman Mixologist of the Year.

May – Held during the first week of May, Cayman Carnival Batabano is the Island’s national carnival. The festival is named in honor of Cayman’s turtling heritage – the word “Batabano ” refers to the tracks left in the sand by sea turtles as they crawl onto the beach to nest. Attendees enjoy colorful costumes, parade floats, vibrant Island music and more. There is even a special “Junior Batabano.”

June/July – The highly anticipated annual CayFilm International Film Festival is a 4-day event that highlights the Cayman Islands as a world-class filming destination and an amazing place to visit and do business. The featured films showcase the beauty of the Cayman Islands and are shown in various venues around the islands in conjunction with panel discussions with filmmakers.

October – Held in late October, Cayman Cocktail Week highlights the cocktail culture of Cayman’s best bartenders, bars and restaurants with an incredible array of cocktail parties, culinary events and tastings. Meet top industry professionals, learn how to make-your-own gin, or go on a historical cocktail tour.

November – Enjoy the fun filled days of music, parades, street dances, competitions, games, and traditional food and drinks of our annual Pirates Week Festivalwhile you absorb some of our history and heritage. The festivities begin on Cayman Brac, continue with a “pirate” invasion and capture of the Governor in Hog Sty Bay on Grand Cayman, and end with a parade, BBQ and fireworks on Little Cayman.
